I am Marius and I'm a big fan of Astra, from 2007 to the present I have owned several models: G, H, J and K.

Now I have a 2021 Astra K, 1.2 gas, Engine type F12SHT, 118.000 km, that is giving me some headaches. I have a problem with the engine: when I drive on a long road when it enters engine braking, the engine goes into "limp mode" and the engine power is reduced. The error P0011 appears, which indicates an incorrect camshaft position, used to indicate incorrect operation of the timing mechanism. I leave the car, not starting it again until the next day, the error resets, but it reappears and that's pretty much the cycle.
Initially when the error appeared, I changed the timing kit (oil-immersed belt)(**anyway, to do this I waited a year to find a timing belt tensioner, which apparently wasn't available in Europe. ), but that didn't change anything about the problem.
I mention that the engine does not fail if it is running under load, only in engine braking or idling.

Please let me know if anyone has encountered this problem or if you have any idea what could be causing this defect.

    Thank you!
