I will say it as simple as I can: it bothers me in no way. I give a shit on GPS maps cause I do not use them in any car. No matter which brand. I paid for the headunit. Accidently there's a navigation function included. So what... it's non of my interest.

You can't because there is NO update for the roads, for the points of interest anymore.

The maps are from 2019!!!! now we have 2025!!

I know companies that after many years still give upgrades!

Jup. I am serious. First: ready carefully and do not interpret things I never said.

Second: did i pay for all those software I used since I can work with a PC? Mostly. Do I use it anymore? Am I able to use it? Mostly not.

Why? Because it's old and outdated. Did you realize, that Microsoft is currently forcing millions of users to buy new hardware to operate win11?

This all are synonyms for the worry you have with the navigation software license and it's maps.

It's not new. It's part of the game. And you know it before buying. Read the terms and conditions and you won't find a paragraph, which gurantees you life time updates for maps or software.

Deal with it.

Auch wenn man sich das gern wünschen würde, ist das rechtlich zumindest fragwürdig. Wäre ich Admin, würde ich wissen, wie man potentielle Unterlassungsklagen verhindert...

Why can't you use your GPS? Is it damaged?

You cannot update the maps anymore. By reasons. But you can already use the GPS.

Same with Windows 95. You can already use it but it's not recommended for security reasons.

You can choose any brand you want. No one forces you to buy Opel.

Hatte bisher für Google Maps das WLAN am Handy ausschalten müssen, um den Mobile Hotspot einschalten zu können, wie mir beim Kauf des Autos gezeigt wurde. Hatte bisher noch nichts von einem AA Wireless Adapter gehört.

Man hätte dir auch einfach sagen können, dass du nen usb-a auf usb-c Datenkabel in der mittelkonsole anstecken kannst.

Der AA Wireless Adapter (es gibt auch noch adapter anderer Firmen) ersetzt dir dieses Kabel durch eine Bluetooth Verbindung. Dein Handy baut also dann zwei Verbindungen auf: zum Auto direkt für Sound (Telefon) und zum AA Wireless Adapter für die restlichen Daten. Via Hotspot vom Auto und dann über WLAN ist ja voll umständlich. Zumal das Auto ja auf irgendein Modem zugreifen muss, um eine Datenverbindung zur Verfügung zu stellen. Und das ist dein Handy sofern du keine SIM Karte im Auto hast. Das mit dem Hotspot ist eigentlich für Mitfahrer gedacht.

Natürlich kann man auch z.B. Goole maps nehmen. Was mich dabei stört ist, dass man dann immer das Handy erst über ein WLAN-Kabel mit den Fzg. verbinden muss, das WLAN von zuhause abschalten und am Handy erst den Mobile Hotspot einschalten muss (umständlich).

WLAN-Kabel? Ich habe Fragen.

Selbst vor meinem AA Wireless Adapter hab ich einfach das Handy an ein Datenkabel im usb-a Slot gesteckt. Telefon/Sound geht über Bluetooth. Weiss nicht was du da mit Hotspot und WLAN im Auto gemacht hast.

Nimm den AA Wireless 2 Adapter, steck den in den USB Slot in der Armlehne, Handy einrichten fertig. Kannst dein Handy in der Tasche lassen in Zukunft. Verbindung ist in der Regel innerhalb 20 Sekunden aufgebaut.

Ich hab letztes Jahr vor Weihnachten die Reifen bei ATU wechseln lassen (so ziemlich das einzige was die aus meiner bisherigen Sicht gefahrlos können). Kurz darauf hat ein Reifen permanent sehr langsam Luft gelassen. Hab's ne Weile beobachtet und dann reklamiert. Sie meinten dann, dass das Ventil an einer Stelle minimal gerissen war (war es wirklich) und sie das tauschen müssten. Natürlich auf meine Kosten.

Ob das nun wirklich verschleiss war oder die einfach nen eigenen Fehler auf mich abgewälzt haben... who knows...

Jetzt zum eigentlichen Thema.

Ich bin am nächsten Tag irgendwo hin gefahren und die rdks sagt mir plötzlich auf dem besagten Reifen (kurz nach dem losfahren) 8PSI. Ich ausgestiegen, Reifen ganz normal. Fehler ist kurz darauf weg und der Reifen hat seine 260PSI drauf gehabt.

Same Game in der Folgewoche auf dem Weg nach weiter weg (500km). 3x kam die Meldung dass ich keinen Reifendruck hätte. 3x Fehlalarm.

Seit dem dann aber komischerweise nicht mehr.

Vermutungen?

Es gibt imho auch nix überflüssigeres als ein on-board-navi wenn es AA und CarPlay gibt. Daher... Lass maze oder Maps oder Apple Maps laufen und gut ist. Die haben eh mehr Informationsgehalt und sind mit live Updates zum Straßenverkehr besser aufgestellt. Hab mein Navi im Astra 1x bei der Probefahrt angeschaltet. Und das ist jetzt 9 Jahre her.

Hab ja schon öfter mal nen Pannendienst in meinem Autoleben gebraucht. Mittlerweile nutze ich aber die Services von der Versicherung. Die rufen auch nur den ADAC oder anderen Dienstleister an. Es ist in der Versicherung dabei. Und das ganze extra Gerümpel was bei ADAC und co in der Mitgliedschaft enthalten ist, hab ich eben anderweitig auch schon und das dann teilweise besser.

Unterm Strich habe ich mich mit dem ADAC immer überversichert gefühlt (und das nach Überprüfung auch bestätigt). Daher Schutzbrief von der Kfz-Versicherung und gut ist.

ultimate_88 ja, das ist richtig. Es geht aber um Sprachnachrichten. Dass ich via Knopf drücken oder "ok, Google" Apps Anweisungen geben kann, ist so alt wie die Android Auto Integration. Auch, dass man eine WhatsApp Nachricht verfassen kann (was so eher weniger als mehr funktioniert). Aber es geht um Sprachnachrichten. WhatsApp verlangt hier eine spezifische Interaktion mit dem mic-button im Display und die Sprachnachricht aufzuzeichnen. Es ist mir nicht bekannt, dass man dies irgendwie remote machen kann.
